| @Chumz101 But he got a point. Mao looks like a child, compared to Jinshi. In theory she's still almost a child but the anime makes her an unnecessarily bigger loli than she is. Just look at how she looks in the novel. She's always been small, but overall she looks more mature there and is simply bigger, looks better. In theory their age is ok, but it's impossible to look at them and not see this weird difference in anime. |

| @Jollyne7 I kinda wish there was a like button here, cause I tink you deserve it. I agree with you. It's really not about boobs. Everything in Maomao looks way smaller in that scene. And of course her size matters, this work comes from Japan a place overflowing with pedos. It reminds me of another anime, Aharen-san wa Hakarenai. Both characters are high schoolers, but it looks like and adult and a child there too. It's disgusting |

| This entire scene loses all its magic if you realise that nothing here is mutual. At this point in time, she respects him as a hard worker and only cares about his health as an apothecary. She'd rather be somewhere else and avoid this awkward moment. They - especially Jinshi - need alot more character development before things can really advance. He keeps touching her (and more) without consent and shes only willing to put up with it because of said respect, his status that makes her think she cant refuse and that hes coming up with rare medical ingredients. Its nice fan-service to keep us engaged and not go insane because of the slow burn tho |

| Second half seriously felt like it came out of some fanfic with all the cliches and stuff. Not gonna lie, it was kinda underwhelming considering the kind of show we are talking about. Also, the potential romance between Xiaomao and Jinshi is like the last thing I care about in this show so aside from the assassination attempt, this episode felt flat to me. |

| The words from Lady Anshi, and the anticipation of Jinshi's expedition for a hunting trip with Shishou, he wouldn't have it other way to have Maomao go along with him, though Gyokuyou's trusty taster will be out for awhile. Gaoshun being invited is also normal, but his family having served Kousen's family for generations to be placed in the same building, their secret will be out soon anyways. Of course, having Maomao along as a taster is tantamount, though Jinshi telling her that he would not eat the food presented to him, Basen sure took a beating out of mere alcohol. Onto the hunt, and even Lihaku bring brought in to take care of dogs, yeap it's a dog-care-dog premise alright. But Jinshi clearly showing signs of dizziness, and the suddenness of an assassination from the attack using the feifa gun that brings him and Maomao under the cliff of a waterfall, both have to tend to their own clothings to dry up for the moment after reviving her through CPR. On top of Jinshi having a near fever, Maomao feeling hungry is normal, and finding the way out is not as simple as it looks, with only an opening to try and get one of them out as soon as possible. OH welp...if not for that frog though, which creates the perfect opportunity for Jinshi to tell Maomao who he actually is. |

| I don't fully understand what's happening here. Jinshi got invited to this sort of hunting meet and he agreed to come but refuses to eat or drink anything and he covers his face so I assume he's aware that there's a plot to assassinate him, he wasn't even surprised a bit when they got shot. So, why come? Why bring Maomao? |
